The Port of La Guiara was Venezuelan first commercial and most important port do the proximity to the city of Caracas one hour (20 Km.) distance.
In the colonial days the importance was so that the Spanish Guipuzcoana Company (Building still exist and conserved in an very good condition) was operating through this port.
It is the only Port equipped for receiving Tourist Vessels.

REMARKS

- The last soundings performed by the Port Captaincy was around 1.992.
- Vessels with more of maximum permitted Loa can be berthed but with extra expenses for shifting other vessels.
