Puerto Sucre is the port of the city of Cumana, capital of the State of Sucre. It has a finger type pier with one berth on each side enabling thedocking of 2 ships; the northern berth is 145 meters long but, as it can be noted from sketch attached, the access road to the pier forms a triangle which gives some additional berthing length to the pier, permitting the docking of a vessel of up to 170 meters long complete inside dock. However, hatch number 1 remains at the recession formed by the access road but if ship's derrick has a reach over the railing of 14 meters, it can discharge without difficulties onto the curved part of the dock. It is recommended that a seaveall be placed to avoid the possibility of cargo falling into water if game slips from the sling or pallet.

The port has 3 warehouses with a total covered area of 3.631 m2 and open space of 7.500 m2 paved. The following is the list of cargo handling equipment in port:

The agents must supply cargo gear which is available in limited cuantities. The tariff to work after midnight, but is nominal as at all other ports which work after midnight, but is not officially feasible due to contractual clauses.
