This refinery is operated by PDVSA PETROLEO Y GAS S.A. and is located in the Bay of the same name. It has the shape of a Kidney and is found between Punta Chiriguare, some 7.4 Km. (4 Mi.) to the SSE of Punta Estanques and Punta Adaro a mile to the south of the latter.
These points make a frame of the Bahia de Amuay, they are almost two small peninsulas. The bay is 6.4 Km. (3.5 Mi.) longing the direction NNW to SSE, and approximately is 2.7 Km. (1.5 Ki.) wide.
There are two (2) well defined towers, with bright lights at night , 66 mts. (216 Ft.) high, located in the refinery. Another tower is seen clearly 2.7 Km. (1.5 Mi.) to the east of Punta Judibana.
